The name of company is 'Jammu & Kashmir State Cable Car Corporation Limited' This is a Govt company established in the year 1988. The main objectives for its incorporation as such were are as under:

1. To establish, run, manage and administer Ropeways and Cable Car Project at Gulmarg (Gulmarg Gondola Project)

2. To take over the running business of Gulmarg Cable Car Project

3. To establish and carry on the business of Ropeways at other Tourist places in the State of Jammu & Kashmir

4. To establish, construct, lease out or acquire on its own Ropeways and Cable Cars at other Tourist Places

5. To develop necessary infrastructure and common facilities at different places in order to promote Tourism in the State.

6. To develop facilities for various sports and games related to tourism in the state.

7. To organize training programmes both within and outside the Country for promoting tourism related sports and recreation in the State.

The authorized capital of the Company is Rs 25.00 Crores(Rupees Twenty Five Crores) divided into 2,50,000 ordinary shares of Rs 1,.000/- each

The corporation at present has the maiden project at Gulmarg ie Gulmarg Gondola Project and the Corporation proposes to set up similar other projects in different tourist resorts of the State.
